MIKEL Training Solutions
MIKEL believes that a well trained sailor is every bit as important as a capable combat system. And that a well trained sailor is a result of lots of practice, and lots of feedback. MIKEL has developed a family of products that automatically measure crew performance as sailors participate in training events at shore based trainers and at sea. These products are the result of decades of experience gained working directly for the Submarine Force’s Deputy Commanders of Readiness and Training, operating Submarine Force Training Facilities and deploying with submarines to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf.
Tactical Analysis Toolbox (TAT)
TAT is a key component of TPAS that can be used as a stand alone analysis system for the reconstruction and analysis of open ocean exercises between surface ships, submarines and aircraft. Once the platform navigation and tactical data is ingested into TAT, open ocean reconstruction methods are used to refine the navigation tracks of the individual platforms and “tie” the submarine tracks to the surface ship tracks using various methods such as active range and bearing tiepoints, GPS fixes and other types of sonar data if available. Once the tracks are refined automatic evaluation of fleet approved metrics is performed enabling rapid performance analysis of the exercise. There is no limit as to the number of platforms engaged in the at sea exercise. Once analysis is complete playback of the exercise is available for debrief. TAT also provides a set of highly interactive graphical user interfaces to allow the analyst to display various metrics and export those displays for use in reports and power point presentations.
