BYG-1 Hardware Technician

Hardware staff are responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing hardware components specific to the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System (CCS) and its peripheral subsystems.  Technician’s daily tasking includes assembling fiber optic cables for both test bay and shipboard configurations, assembling various other cable types according to US Navy specifications, complete physical install of CCS hardware components in Code 25 test bays, and conducting electrical component and processor bench testing to verify functionality of test bay equipment.  Candidate is technically oriented and proficient in relation to electronic component assembly and test, interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics, and finding and correcting issues with hardware components.  Technician will work closely with our CCS Integration team in order to ensure that the proper CCS configurations are installed in each test bay, as well as assist the Integration team during software and hardware troubleshooting efforts.  Given the inherently complex nature of the CCS, the technician will often need to employ intuitive and innovative troubleshooting methods to correct issues.  The Hardware team is an integral part to both Code 25’s and Mikel, Inc.’s collective missions, and as such holds an important place among various lab stakeholders and test entities.  If you are a technically oriented individual and find purpose in “tinkering” with various electronics, apply for the Hardware team today!
